Intro Path helps you find the best route to an introduction by analyzing your mutual connections. Intro paths are available on both people and company profiles.

Requirements: You must have the Distill Chrome extension to see Intro paths and mutuals, in general. See what the Chrome extension provides to learn more.

How It Works

  1. Navigate to a person or company profile and see your total # of Mutual Connections. Click on any connections to be taken to a dedicated page showing all your connections. You should see /Mutuals in the URL. ex. *https://distill.fyi/p/……../mutuals.*
  2. Mapping the Best Connection – Once you’re in the mutuals dedicated page, we will show you a diagram displaying the strongest and shortest path between you and the person or company you're trying to reach.
  3. Analyze your mutual relationships – Within the diagram, we’ll show you an analysis of how the contacts know each other, such as attending the same university, working at the same company, or being connected on LinkedIn.
  4. You can search through your intro paths by name or job title. See the 🔍 icon on the top right of the mutuals page.

People Intro Paths

Company Intro Paths

Similar to People intro paths, Company Intro paths display individuals connected to the company you’re researching, along with the most efficient and direct route for an introduction.

Show Intro paths from My Network

When viewing intro paths to a person or company, you’ll see if someone from Your Network (the people you’ve connected with on Distill) is a potential path. This highlights paths that come from your direct Distill connections in your network and helps you spot warm introductions, while saving time by letting you focus on the best connections. Here’s how it works:

  1. Search for a person or company in Distill.

  2. Open the Intro Paths view.

  3. Under each intro path, you’ll now see whether your team has any connections to any of the intro paths.

Hiding Intro Paths

If you want to hide any pathway connections, you can press the Hide button on the top right when you click on each relationship by clicking on the (⋮) and pressing Hide. You can unhide any of the intro paths in the “hidden profiles” section at the top of all intro paths.
